THE NIGHT HAS A THOUSAND EYES

The Night Has a Thousand Eyes is a leaded Venetian glass mosaic panel commissioned by Retina Consultants, Ltd in 1989 for our clinic in Fargo, ND.  This whimsical view of the retina, created by David J Hetland, is designed to resemble a forest at dusk (the setting sun in the macula lutea).  Peering out from among the "branches" (blood vessels) are eyes of every description: human, cat, fish, owl, reptile and even a cartoon character.  Inspiration for the theme came from the 1963 classic The Night Has a Thousand Eyes, by Bobby Vee, a Fargo native.
